Tampa Lawn & Outdoor Pest Control FAQs

Don’t see your question answered? Get in touch today!

How do I identify my lawn pests?

Sometimes, you’ll actually see the pests themselves while, other times, you’ll see the damage they cause. For example, if you saw a mammal with small eyes, a hairless, pointy snout, and no visible ears—perhaps seven inches in length—that sounds like a North American mole. Because they largely live underground, you’re more likely to see volcano-shaped mounds in your yard that indicate moles are digging tunnels.

Moles can move from one yard to the next, often in unpredictable ways. So, you can’t prevent them from showing up, but our bait mole extermination system will take care of the problem. You can contact us specifically for mole control or bundle this with your Tampa lawn care services.

Returning to the question of how to identify lawn pests, we’ll inspect your yard when we start your lawn pest control services and target problems. Each time our technicians return, we’ll reassess the condition of your yard and provide appropriate Tampa pest control applications.

What lawn pests do you get rid of?

As part of our regular Tampa lawn services, we treat and protect your lawn from multiple pests commonly found in Florida. Tampa pest control services include:

  • Mole crickets: These insects thrive in moist, warm weather conditions like we have in Florida. They chew on grass roots, day and night, and disrupt grass root systems with their tunneling. As part of our lawn pest control, we can take care of any mole cricket issues.
  • Sod webworms: We protectively protect your lawn from these destructive pests, which are actually caterpillars. By the time that your sod webworm presence would be noticeable, a significant amount of damage would already exist. That’s why we take a proactive approach.
  • Armyworms: This type of caterpillar can be exceptionally destructive, most active in the warmer months. They can ruin just about any lawn and are especially damaging to those newly sodded and seeded. We’ll manage this issue for you as part of your Tampa lawn and outdoor services.
  • Chinch bugs: These bugs cause severe damage to grass and, as they spread throughout the yard, grass can die off in large areas. They also destroy flowers and other plants. That’s why we proactively treat this pest as part of our Tampa lawn control services.
  • Lawn grubs: These pests feed on grass roots and, since one lawn can have hundreds of these pests, they can cause significant problems. If you notice birds, frogs, or lizards in your lawn, they may be feeding on lawn grubs. As part of our lawn care services, we’ll take care of them.

Plus, you can add mole control, fire ant management, and armadillo control to your Tampa lawn and outdoor services.

What lawn care products do you use?

In general, we may apply products to fertilize your lawn, optimize your turf, manage weeds (broadleaf and grassy), and treat fungus to ensure quality results. In each situation, we will balance effectiveness with safety. More specifically, your technicians will happily describe the products and services we recommend and answer all of your questions.

How long do weed treatments take to work?

Each situation is unique. From our experience, though, it may take about six months for optimal results. In general, the healthier the lawn, the more quickly the weed treatments will work so, if weed problems are more severe, it may take longer than a lawn with fewer issues. When our technician assesses your lawn, you’ll receive a customized treatment plan. We’ll describe your plan and answer all your questions.
